I haven’t done champage with fish and chips but I have done English Sparkling in Cornwall and it was was one of the best combos I have ever had. The salty fish balances the crisp acidicty and the texture of the batter with the mousse was great.

I was given an open bottle of the Aurage ’07 and it was still gorgeous 2 days later…a perfect match with juicy Shepherd’s pie.
This is a rich, ripe wine that has perfect equilibirum. I remember aromas of millionaries shortbread (biscuit, toffee and dark chocolate) the first time I tried it.
I urge you to get in on the secret and introduce yourself to the marvellous Mitjavile wines, you wont be disappointed!

As a customer of C&B and born in Northampton (and an ex rugby player); I can only say that the ref made some very strange and inconsistent decisions on the day, in ‘Quins favour as it happens. The Saints deserved to win!

Here here, the marvellous Mitjavilles…all of the wines were bursting with heady flavours and concentration.
Phelan Segur was better than 15.44 (my score 16.5, the same as Calon Segur)!
Instantly attractive nose with hints of all spice. A lovely, lush wine. Amazing value at 185 quid.
