Top 5 Christmas film and wine pairings

By Corney & Barrow

There’s no time like Christmas time. The twinkling of tree lights, the incredible aromas wafting from the kitchen, the lovely hubbub as family and friends gather, and, of course, the happy clink of glasses.
To make the most of the festive season, discover our top five Christmas film and wine pairings!

1. ELF and Sparkling wine

It’s a Will Ferrel movie so it’s hilarious. This cult Christmas movie deserves something bubbly and fun, just because it is! Wiston Estate Brut West Sussex NV is the perfect match.

2.  A Christmas Carol & Sloe Gin

Like most Victorians, Dickens loved Gin, so we definitely recommend Corney & Barrow Sloe Gin. It’s really punchy but not overwhelming, pleasantly medicinal.

3.  Love Actually & Chardonnay

Love Actually is sweet, funny and romantic…just like Chardonnay! It used to be a bold new world Chardonnay, but nowadays it has to be burgundy – this year it will be Corney and Barrow Burgundy!

4.  The Grinch and Riesling

A dry Riesling is one of the most versatile wines out there. Acidic, crisp and complex, it reminds us of the Grinch. This is why we love him so much!

5.  Die Hard and Mad Dog

Mad Dog Shiraz: mad name, mad label, mad number of bottles made (a mere 500 cases a year) but quoted as a prime example of its type with its spicy plump fruit, velvety chocolate texture, and refreshing minerality. Prime example of its type just like this 80s film starting Bruce Willis.
