Pearson Launch

 Pearson-Launch-with-C&B-Red

If Corney & Barrow was a bike shop, then Pearson would probably be it. Founded in 1860, Pearson is to this day run by the same family, with the 5th generation now at the helm under the guidance of brothers Guy and Will. The Guinness Book of Records has recently accepted that the Pearson’s shop in Sutton as being the oldest of its kind in the UK, possibly the world.  So the opening of a second shop some 151 years later in Sheen is quite an event.

For those that know me, it is fair to say that my time outside of work is either spent in my wetsuit or clad in lycra charging around the Surrey Hills on my road or mountain bike trying not to fall off and end up in Epsom A&E. A few years back, Will Pearson twisted mine and my partner Olivia’s arm, to ride the Londres Paris event for Team Pearson. Ride after ride it soon dawned on me just how many cyclists love wine, a topic which has helped pass many an hour in the saddle.  This is indeed the connection between C&B and Pearson and one the reasons why C&B house red, white and C&B sparkling were the performance drinks of choice at the grand opening of the new Pearson Performance shop in Sheen. Rather fittingly in the context of wine, the shop was opened by the comedian Tim Vine who in the space of 5 minutes, delivered an array of excellent cycling jokes, much to the amusement of the expectant crowd. Chapeau!

We hope to be launching a wine club for Pearson customers and club members soon, so watch this space.
