Corney & Barrow is delighted to announce its appointment to represent the entire Labruyère Family portfolio, comprising Domaine Jacques Prieur, Domaine Labruyère Moulin à Vent and, in time, Champagne Labruyère, exclusively in the UK. We continue to buy, through the Place de Bordeaux, Château Rouget.

This appointment is with immediate effect and further reinforces Corney & Barrow’s strategy of creating exclusive or majority partnerships with world class estates.

Corney & Barrow also enjoys similar relationships with Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, Domaine Bonneau du Martray, Clos de Tart, Domaine François Carillon, Pétrus, Château Trotanoy and the wines of Ets J-P Moueix, Tertre Roteboeuf, Roc de Cambes, Dominio de Pingus, Tenuta di Biserno, Tenuta di Trinoro, Salon among many others.

Domaine Jacques Prieur

Domaine Jacques Prieur enjoys a spectacular position within Burgundy, encompassing so many of the Grands Crus – Le Montrachet, Chevalier Montrachet, Corton-Bressandes, Corton Charlemagne, Les Échezeaux, Clos de Vougeot, Le Musigny, Le Chambertin, and Chambertin Clos de Bèze as well as a host of premiers crus traversing Meursault, home to the Domaine, Puligny, Pommard, Volnay and Beaune.

Domaine Labruyère, Moulin- à-Vent

Les Thorins, a hamlet of Romanèche-Thorins is where the Labruyère family first acquired a number of tiny, well-located vineyards. The family winery is one of the oldest in Moulin- à-Vent. Four very distinctive wines are made here, Moulin-à-Vent Coeur de Terroir, Champ de Cour, Le Carquelin and the celebrated Clos du Moulin-à-Vent – the unique monopole of the commune. The Collection 1850, from a selection of different parcels from the Domaine’s holding is from very old vines planted on granite, rich in quartz and manganese. The other three wines have very distinctive soil differentiations, although all granite based: Champ de Cour is south-east facing, with a layer of pebbles under clay, Le Carquelin is on light sandy clay and finally the Clos du Moulin, just under a hectare of 70 year old vines alongside the iconic windmill is planted on dry, hard granite. All are very individual in character and resound with the classic quality signature of this commune of old – serious wines with the capacity to age.

Champagne Labruyère

This, the most recent acquisition to the family’s portfolio, encompasses 6.5 hectares of Grand Cru Verzenay in the Montagne de Reims. The family acquired this récoltant-manipulant (The wine is made solely by the estate’s grapes) in 2012 and will release the first wine under the family label in September 2015.

Château Rouget, Pomerol

A prime site in Pomerol boasting l’Église Clinet, Pétrus and Le Gay as neighbours, there are now 18 hectares exclusively located on the Plateau de Pomerol. Considered almost every year as “sleeper of the vintage”, Rouget is retaking its place among the elite of its appellation. This is currently offered through the Place de Bordeaux.
